Healthy hair and scalp means choosing the best formulas suited for your hair type. But which ingredients are good? We talked to Löwengrip’s head of production, Ida Virdebrant, to find out more.
If I were to highlight three ingredients, it would be panthenol, bamboo extract and hydrolysed wheat protein.
Panthenol adds volume and shine
As production manager, what are your favourite ingredients in Löwengrip Hair care?
“Löwengrips’ hair care products are packed with gentle, yet effective ingredients that will nourish and strengthen the hair. They are all vegan and free from sulphates and parabens. If I were to highlight three ingredients, it would be panthenol, bamboo extract and hydrolysed wheat protein."
Why?
"Hair consists of a part of panthenol, which allows the ingredient to penetrate deeper into its cortex, causing hair to swell slightly and create more volume. In skin and hair, panthenol is converted to Provitamin B5, which keeps it moisturized for prolonged periods. It forms a film of moisture on the hair strand, providing extra protection for your hair. Panthenol also adds volume and shine and improves hair texture while preventing tangles. "
Bamboo extract has high silica content, which is an important trace mineral that encourages hair growth, helps to strengthen the hair and restores elasticity. Shampoos that contain bamboo extract are good at washing away dead skin cells and other unwanted agents that can build up on hair strands. By playing a role in removing a build-up of pollutants, body oils, and chemicals on the hair, bamboo extract can also add a natural shine and lustre to your hair.
Hydrolyzed wheat proteins are easily absorbed into the hair due to their low molecular weight, unlike other proteins available in hair care products. It can thicken and add volume and body to the hair by swelling the hair shaft with moisture. It will form a shiny, lustrous film on the surface of the hair, and repair damaged hair with proteins.
